Proving that the island doesn't only resonate to the 4:4 beat of house music, Ibiza Swing Fun Fest returns to put a spring in your step and a smile on your face. Beginning on the afternoon of Friday 26th until Sunday 28th, live swing music, courtesy of up to fifteen local, national and international bands, accompanied by DJs, will be the soundtrack for the whole weekend.
The packed programme of events will commence Plaça del Nort (behind San An church) on Friday night, moving to Passeig de ses Fonts (the fountain Square) on Saturday morning and finishing at Punta des Moli (the windmill point) on Sunday afternoon.
Specialist swing DJs, The Swingmakers from Barcelona, will kick off the proceedings on Friday afternoon and Melodias Pazarras from Madrid will keep the music jumping between the live bands on Saturday night.
Lindy Hop is a dance style originating in the USA in the 1920's with the rise of Jazz music and is currently enjoying a popular worldwide revival. Everyone is invited learn how to dance Lindy at one of the €50 professionally taught masterclasses. On Saturday morning you can even join pro teams and duke it out in the island's first ever swing dance battle.
