10 tracks that smashed Carl Cox's ONE NIGHT STAND at DC10

The best tunes of the night from GAME OVER's final ONE NIGHT STAND at DC10.

Carl Cox at DC10 is the stuff of legend. The underground club's immense clubbing history paired with Cox's unparalleled knowledge from behind the decks is a killer combination that leave jaws hanging in awe.

After tearing the Terrace off Amnesia, smashing the cherries at Pacha, the big man was back for his final ONE NIGHT STAND by Game Over at the infamous club last Friday 10 August. The date goes down in history.

With thumping techno, rolling bass and iconic house classics that never tire, Carl Cox and his ONE NIGHT STAND cohort brought it all.

I was lucky enough to enjoy it all on the piercing DC10 sound system, cranked all the way up to “Oh yes, oh yes!”

Here are the top 10 tunes of the night.

Jesuon | Housy (Original Mix) | Duna Recordings

East End Dubs had the terrace shaking with this 2009 house banger.

La Pena | My Pussy (Original Mix) | La Pena

Setting the scene for the big man, Fuse favourite Rossko had the beats rolling with this slick tune and its wicked vocals.

MOGUAI & Raumakustik |Sometimes (Original Mix)| Spinnin' Deep

Carl Cox was poised and ready in the wings. Rossko left with some serious funk.

Alex Virgo | Ze Dance (Original Mix) | Edible

It was time. Carl Cox announced himself. The Terrace was rammed at this point and everyone was going for it. I'd never seen an atmosphere like it when this came on.

Todd Terry & Gypsymen | Babarabatiri (David Penn Remix) | Phoenix Music Inc

Then things got heavier. This groovy remix by David Penn fit DC10 perfectly.

Wade | Boyz In Da Hood (Camelphat Remix) | Resonance Records

Carl Cox was in full-flow by this point. This banger made my neck ache. Seriously.

Michel De Hey | Enough Isn't Enough | | Relief

Out on Green Velvet's relief records, this Michel De Hey techno masterpiece went down a treat. Cox was flexing his talent in fine fashion.

Darren Emerson | Deadlock (Original Mix) | Intec

Straight from Carl Cox's Intec label, Deadlock by Darren Emerson brought the soundtrack to a deeper, darker level of techno. Seatbelt fastened.

Deetron | Photon (Orginal Mix) | Character

The one I'd been waiting for. The big man blew me away with this at his Amnesia One Night Stand. Iconic.

KinK | Perth (Dusky Remix) | Running Back

The sun peaked through the clouds, legs were tired and Carl Cox didn't care one bit. His selections just got better and better. It was no surprise we left at the bitter end.

And that was the end of Carl Cox's One Night Stands on Ibiza. If there were ever any doubt, the king of techno truly established his throne and conquered DC10 on this night.

That's not all for Coxy this season, though. He still has two more dates with RESISTANCE at Privilege on 21 August and for the closing 11 September.

All we can do is hope that the king and GAME OVER return for seconds next year. In the meantime, keep the nights alive by listening to Ibiza Spotlight's specially selected ONE NIGHT STAND Spotify playlist here.
