Having re-opened to rapturous applause with their sparkling new layout this past weekend, Pacha continues to feed us tantalising one-off parties. While Fatboy Slim, Dixon, Seth Troxler and Solomun are still yet to play their all night long sets, Pacha has four more standalone events this month.
Kicking off IMS week, Ibizan favourite Melon Bomb is the first to take up occupancy on Monday 21 May. Purveyors of gay disco and London underground party collective Horse Meat Disco will be the guests of honour.
Musically, this one could go in any direction - obscure disco gems with a hefty dose of funk and soul, all the while following a house narrative. Definitely a soundtrack to absorb yourself in.
Of course, the full Melon Bomb crew will be on hand to deliver their own brand of anarchy. Fellow islander Graham Sahara also gets in on the action. What we can say for sure is that no matter the location, this party always contains the contagious Balearic spirit.
The following night HE.SHE.THEY. set-up shop. This party aims for people to shed their inhibitions and be either exactly who they are or an exaggerated version of themselves. With Pacha's unashamed glam reputation, we couldn't think of a better combo on paper.
HE.SHE.THEY. really put its mark on the UK capital during London Fashion Week and now it imports its vibrant artistic vision to Ibiza. Frequented by the flamboyant to the fetishists, this party wears its badge of outrageousness with pride.
The ensemble of artists playing includes George FitzGerald and Honey Dijon. There will also be a riveting back-to-back between Heidi and Kim Ann Foxman. Expect this to have a strong non-binary/gender fluid crowd, but everybody is welcome to join in a celebration of individuality.
The world's largest dedicated electronic music magazine Mixmag jets in on Wednesday 23 May. The global platform has called in some industry favours and will bring a diverse selection of talent with them.
Besides their in-house Mixmag All Stars, there are also highly-anticipated sets from Hunee, Antal and Shanti Celeste. With these acts seldom seen in Ibiza, Mixmag continues on its mission to provide a platform across the spectrum.
On Thursday 24 May, a familiar face takes the reins. German tropical house sensation Robin Schulz & Friends returns to Pacha. Having been a regular fixture at David Guetta's FMIF! parties these past few years, Robin is no stranger to the venue.
His exploits on those occasions – including standing in for David during the whole of September – has shown he is worthy of headlining his own night. Support comes from Hugel, Alle Farben, Sylvain Armand and Danny Wade.
Then from Friday 25 May, Pacha's weekly programming comes into full-effect. Although this is always a busy week on the island with the IMS Grand Finale at Dalt Vila, IMS satellite events and other openings, Pacha has certainly turned our heads with these special announcements.
We could spend our whole week getting lost in the music underneath Ibiza Town's iconic twin cherries.
Tickets for all shows are available now.
