When you arrive at the Ibiza Sun Apartments, it feels like a tranquil haven of peace and calm. Whether unwinding with a cocktail from the pool bar or enjoying a relaxing massage, it's impossible to believe, when you get here, that you are right next to the action of Ibiza's most lively resort of Playa d'en Bossa.
As with most things in life, first impressions count. Checking-in at the Ibiza Sun Apartments I was immediately struck by the sheer number of friendly staff, efficiently going about their business. The discerning international traveller will appreciate the overriding sensation of cleanliness and order.
The tasteful minimalist theme of brilliant white is repeated in a variety of imaginative ways throughout the place. There are touches of vivid orange, a deeply relaxing, yet vibrant colour. You will see oranges picked out in the carefully folded pool towels, cushions, tablecloths, bar and restaurant illuminations. Even the uniforms of the attentive, multi-lingual staff are coloured a shade of orange.
Minimalist and modern

All the apartments come as Junior Suites and mine was equipped to accommodate up to three guests, with one bedroom plus lounge with a sofa bed. The dining and sitting area was comfortably arranged with LED lighting adding an instant cool-lit ambiance.
Our room was replete with flat-screen television and a smart, modern kitchenette equipped with a two-ring hob, microwave and fridge. A complimentary bottle of chilled champagne awaited us and was the perfect tonic to help us unwind after a weary day of travel.
Bedrooms have been minimally decorated in a modern style and are well air-conditioned with comfortable beds, either twin or double. If you want a lie in, you will love the double black out curtains. Sometimes you need to escape the light, especially after one of those famous Ibiza nights. We loved the smell of the freshly laundered crisp white cotton, beautifully refreshing after a long hard day spent lazing in the sunshine.
A restaurant for all seasonings
The breakfast buffet has a generous selection of breads, hams and cheeses plus healthy options, including fruits and juices. There is a hot breakfast menu including Italian, English and French options. My poached eggs and bacon were prepared to perfection - that's a big bonus for me.
The restaurant menu offers a range of the typical holiday favourites at reasonable prices: salads, burgers, kebabs and pasta dishes. As an Asian food lover, it was pleasing for me to see the variety of Thai dishes on offer, all served with Jasmine rice.
Feeling too lazy to shop and cook on the first night we ordered some in-room eats. A delicious, aromatic Panang beef curry for me and for my wife, Gai Kaprao: chicken with cashews flavoured with aromatic basil and spices. These we devoured on our balcony while enjoying the terrace music. The tempo was just starting to raise slightly as the evening drew in, increasing my anticipation of the night to come.
A gentle breeze below the palm trees
At the heart of the Ibiza Sun apartments is the pool terrace. Fringed by palm trees, it is cleverly laid out with three pools - two Jacuzzis and a circular swimming pool - sunk into the smooth tiles. Rows of comfortable, minimalist double loungers with large parasols are precisely arranged, along with some shaded Balinese day beds. There was very little background noise above the daytime chill-out tunes with just the sound of the breeze in the palms to waft us into a nice relaxed state.
Health conscious guests can admire the view of the pool terrace while they work out in the glass-fronted gym, equipped with cardio machines and a range of free weights. There are shower rooms beside the gym with towels and shower gels for your use too.
Massages inside and out

A range of massages and treatments are available and can be pre-booked in the wellness centre. Returning guests are often offered a complimentary massage, which you can enjoy either inside or in the open air. I followed my exercise routine with a soothing massage by the resident masseuse. It was lovely, making me feel completely refreshed and ready for anything life could throw at me.
It is easy to see why there are many guests who choose to return. The high scoring reviews from previous guests are a good indication as to why guests come back here so much. There's even an extra discount for returning guests: just ask at reception when you check out.
If you are the type of traveller who appreciates your creature comforts, calm and access to copious amounts of fun, then all you need is at the Ibiza Sun Apartments.
