Over the past 20 years, the DJ Awards celebration has become an important calendar event on Ibiza. DJs and producers alike flock to the island to attend the ceremony. In previous years the awards have been hosted at Pacha, but this year 2017 the very special gala is being hosted at Hï Ibiza on Tuesday 26 September.
The venue has been transformed from the structure that was Space into a state of the art venue with spectacular features and the most advanced sound lighting technologies on the island. The event will be a celebration of the success enjoyed by the electronic music industry and the award ceremony in the past twenty years.
The DJ Awards was founded in 1998 by Jose Pascual and Lenny Krarup as the first music awards in recognition of the work and talent of the DJs and producers who live their life for electronic music.
The nominees are chosen by selected a special panel made up of industry experts who work with the DJ awards as a cultural association and non-profit organisation. The categories have been different each year as electronic music progressed across the two decades, but the 2017 Edition will consist of 12 categories, over 120 nominations, plus a further 12 special awards.
Yann Pissenem, the CEO and Artistic Director of Hï Ibiza said: “Over the last 20 years the DJ Awards has become one of the most important award ceremonies in our industry celebrating all the hard work that takes place each year in Ibiza. We are proud to be able to host this event at our newest venue Hï Ibiza and we look forward to welcoming you all on the 26th of September.”
So mark your calendar. This year's awards ceremony promises to be the biggest one yet.
