Gay Pride returns to Ibiza

A new parade and series of events will take place 8-12 July 2015.

2015 will see an organised festival in support of gay and LGBT rights and communities, under the banner of Gay Pride, taking place across 5 days from 8th until 12th July. The private organisers of the event have already obtained support of the Consell (Ibiza Government) and Ayuntamiento (Ibiza Town Council) and have ambitious estimates that up to 50,000 tourists from over 50 nationalities could come to the island, especially for the highlight of the festival, a parade on July 11th.

Ibiza has a long history of hosting gay events and supporting the gay community, with previous Pride events running through the 90s until 2002, something this new event seeks to rediscover. Both representatives from the authorities spoke of "recovery of Ibiza as a gay destination and to energise the Port area", this being where many of the events will take place. Alongside the main parade and open-air event in the Port, there will be a series of art and photography exhbitions, documentaries, sports activities and of course there will be an extensive series of musical entertainment, ranging from events in Calle De La Virgen through to club events.

We'll be providing more information of the agendas we get closer to the event.
