Celebration of St Carmen's saint´s day - the saint of all sailors & those who work or sail on the sea. There will be a special mass in most coastal towns & villages on the island & then the saint´s image will be carried in procession from the church to the harbour & carried out to sea for prayers & blessing , accompanied my a flotilla of gaily decorated fishing boats, ferry boats & private yachts.
